Hmmm - Interesting. I think it's a bold move and I will be interested to see how it shakes out. I have no predictions to offer, but I will say that I'm glad someone had the guts to try something radical and hopefully they'll be able to share the results (whatever they may be) so we can all learn from them. Thanks for sharing Margot!

Great advice. Always good to remember that you have to be specific, you have to know what you want before you can ask for it or know how to recognize it. This is off topic, but I'd be very curious to hear what the Englin team thinks of this: http://techpresident.com/blog-entry/do-not-ask-end-fundraising-emails.

Fix Congress First sent out an email encouraging its members to opt out of all fundraising emails -- forever, if they wanted to. This is really radicial. How will it work out? Predictions?

On the one hand, the people who don't opt out will be more likely to become donors because they've self-selected to stay on and be solicited. On the other hand, the people who didn't want to be asked won't drop off because they are tired of fundraising emails. So they can stay engaged as information-sharers or volunteers doing what they want.

Seems like a great idea. Will it catch on?
